Questions and Answers
How long does grooming usually take?
This is usually breed dependent but if the hair needs to be cut we ask that you allow 3 hours so that we can wash, dry and cut the hair. It is important to us that your dog will learn to enjoy the grooming process so we will not rush this experience.
If the hair is matted this can take considerably more time.
How do I avoid my dogs hair becoming matted?
Please ask us to show you how to effectively comb your dog between each grooming session, we are here to help you and your dog. Regular combing at home and a regular grooming schedule is the best way to achieve a healthy coat and a happy dog.
Why do matts need to be removed?
Matting can be harmful and painful to the dogs skin. If left untreated for a long time it will cause irritation and quite likely lead to a visit to the vet to treat the irritation. Please think about a regular grooming schedule and ask us for advice. Some breeds are more prone to matting and need more regular grooming, e.g. the popular Cockapoo breed.
